I don't participate in any surveys because I know exactly how they work. Surveys are a lie perpetrated by whom ever is paying for the survey. I know that sounds harsh but it is a fact. Political surveys are perhaps the worst of all of them. The question your asked in surveys, if you analysis the question, shows why they don't show honest information.
The question are all worded to obtain the answer the surveyor wants. The surveyor isn't interested in the truth they're interested in getting answers the exact way they want the answer to be. That may not seem plausible to do but it is extremely easy.
Over the years, because of work, I had to take a number of surveys pertaining to our lottery. Finally, after a few that bugged me, I challenged them on the wording of the questions. When I challenged it immediately the other 11 people realized it and started asking for answers. They avoided answering it and needless to say they never asked me back for another survey.
Our lottery corporation had realized that the sales of their 6/49 game was decreasing drastically. They knew that they needed a larger prize payout for each draw to increase sales, kind of simple common sense. To do that they needed to increase the price of each ticket. Because it is a government corporation they needed to say it was something totally ask for by the population. Asked for by the population says they needed a survey that showed it was what the people wanted. So the survey had to be worded so the answer was yes people wanted, even demanded a higher prize payout for each draw. That was exactly what they got except for myself and 11 other people. A few months later they announced the higher prize payout and that they where increasing the price per ticket by two dollars.
The exact way the question was worded was this " do you want to see a higher prize payout for 6/49". The way the question was worded people of course said yes. All surveys use that exact conn to get the answer they want. Word the question this way, " do you want to see a higher prize payout for 6/49 and pay two dollars more per ticket". Worded with the whole truth of what they wanted to do risked the answer being NO. The question isn't a total lie it's just not anywhere near the truth.
If you get asked to take a survey, why waste your time. They already have the answer they're going to use and have worded the questions to get it.
