わたしたちが住む小さな村にある郵便ポストには、よく、毛糸か何かで編んだ帽子のようなものが飾られています。どなたが作られているのかはわからないようなのですが、夜のうちに新しいものが被せてあるそうです。わたしたちの村だけでなく、いろいろなところで見かけられるらしく、調べてみたところ、コロナの時に NHS で働く方達に向けて始められたらしいのですが、その後、クリスマスやイースターなどの時期に飾られるようになっているようです。少し前に村の郵便ポストの側を車で通ったときに道路側から見て、「うさぎちゃんとかみたいだけど、なんだろうね。」と言っていたら、今日夫がお散歩に出た時に写真を撮って来てくれました、オリンピックでした。可愛い！次は、ハロウィーンかな？
We often see "post box topper" on the post box of our little village, nobody seems to know who make them but apparently it changes to a new one overnight. This isn't just our village but in many places, apparently this started as a tribute to NHS workers during the covid, then it changed to special ones like Christmas and Easter. A little while ago when we drove near it, we saw, from our car, there was a new one but we couldn't figure out what it was for as we saw it from the road, we thought they looked like little animals like rabbit but that was all we could see. My husband took a photo of it today when he went out for a little walk, it was Olympic one. Very cute. Maybe next one will be Halloween?
