Recommended by Johor Kaki, with a serious 20 minute 10 man queue to boot. I had only succeeded in tasting this at my fourth time here - they were closed for Chinese New Year the first time, going for a lunch break the second time, and sold out at around 3pm the third time.

This was a seriously greasy and smoky char kway teow, with a balanced sweet soy sauce, savoury and garlicky flavour, coupled with a very solid wok hei. The Chinese sausage was sweet, cockles fresh and juicy, and lard crispy, greasy and fragrant. I think the key is the caramelisation in the sauce and the egg, the serious softness and nua nua mushiness of the kway teow and noodles, and the absence of any alkaline or iron taste. Very nice, going straight up to become one of my top char kway teow.
