When I first saw this product on Instagram, I have been wanting to try it. It seemed like the perfect makeup remover: a combination of micellar water and oil. I tried both micellar water and oil makeup removers before and I prefer the oil based ones. They are more effective at removing makeup.
So when I went to Watson's one time, I went ahead and bought a bottle of this Face Erase from Sunnies Face. I was really excited to try it. The packaging was quite plain and had the traditional embossed logo if Sunnies Face on the box. The product is a clear liquid. It was just like water but you can see a layer of oil on top, so there's clear demarcation between oil and water. It also doesn't have a scent.
Unfortunately, my expectations were not met by this product. It took a lot of the product to completely remove your makeup, like around 5-8 cotton pads. It also dried up my skin. It was completely opposite of what I was expecting. Because it was also oil based, I did not expect my skin to become so dry. But it did and it dried up in a big way. It was really sad because I had such high hopes. One really should learn to manage expectations.
Anyway, I went back to my old makeup remover which is the one from Banila Co. I'll be sticking to that one. It may be expensive but it works wonders. I won't be recommending the Face Erase to anyone after what I experienced. But you can still try it if you want. Just remember to manage your expectations.
