今日は、やっと気温が２０度を超えて２４度近くまで上がりました。ただ、結構雲も多かったので暑いというほどではなかったです。とは言え、わたしはお庭に短時間出たくらいでほとんど家の中だったのでなんとも言えませんが、キッチンとお庭の間のドアを開けていると寒いくらいでしたし、ショートパンツでお庭に座っていた夫もそう言っていたので気温の割にあまり暑くはなかったようです。
It finally went above 20C, apparently it went up to almost 24C this afternoon. However, it wasn't as sunny as it could have been so it wasn't that hot. I spent the whole day inside other than 10 minutes in the garden so I wouldn't have known but it did feel quite chilly with the breeze from the door between the kitchen and the garden and my husband also said so having spent most of the afternoon in the garden in his short trosers.
今日の夕食は、今年初めての冷製桃と生ハムのパスタでした。お天気も良いですし、ドーナッツピーチもあったのでそうしたのですが、残念ながら桃はあまり熟れていなくて硬めで甘みもあまりありませんでした。先週は美味しかったのですが、まだ出始めで安定しないみたいです。それでも、それなりに美味しくいたえだきました。
Today's dinner was Cold Peach & Cured Ham Pasta, which we had for the first time this year. As the weather was summery and we had donut peaches I decided to cook it but sadly the peaches were not very soft or sweet. It was lovely and sweet last week, but I guess it's early in the season. It was still tasty enough.
明日から３泊でデボン州のダートモアにある大好きなホテルに泊まりに行ってきます。やはり（笑）お天気予報は直前になって悪い方に変わってしまい、お天気は晴れたり曇ったり、という感じ、気温もあまり上がらず最高気温１７、８度のようです。でも、あまり暑いとホテルには冷房がなくて夜眠れないので、低めくらいの方が助かります。ロンドンのホテルは大抵今は冷房が入っていると思いますが、ロンドンを離れるとまだまだ冷房の入っていないホテルが多いみたいです。
We are going away to Dartmoor in Devon to stay at our favourite hotel. As I feared, the weather forecast changed for the worse in the last minute and it looks like it'll be sometimes sunny and sometimes cloudy and not so warm - about 17C or 18C highest. Still, the hotel rooms don't have air-conditioning units so I'd rather it to be lower temperature than too warm. I think more hotels in London now have air-conditioning units but outside London I have a feeling that not many do.
