嬉しい知らせがありました、甥っ子（夫の弟の息子）夫婦に赤ちゃんが生まれました！予定より１週間くらい早いですが、無事に生まれて何より。女の子だそうです。英語では Great niece と呼びますが、日本語ではなんだろうと調べてみたところ、又姪と呼ぶそうです、でも聞いたことないので一般的には甥の子供、なのかな？
We had wonderful news today, our nephew (my husband's younger brother's son) & his wife had a little baby today! It's about a week early but we are so happy that all seems good, it's a girl! So we have a great niece now!
今日は予報通り寒くなり、最高気温は１５度、最低気温は５度。でも、日中はお天気が良かったので、お庭仕事をしていても結構暖かく感じました。ただし、もう夏服ではありません、夏服だと寒い。９月初旬でこの気温はどうなの、とは思いますが、お天気さえ良ければ多少気温が低くても苦になりません、むしろ日本の暑さの方が辛い。
It's gone cold as expected, the highest is only 15C and the lowest is 5C. However, it was quite sunny during the day so when I was doing some gardening it felt quite warm with the sun on my back - but of course I'm not wearing summer clothes any longer. It seems crazy that it's winter temperature in early September but as long as it's sunny it the low temperature doesn't bother me that much, I prefer this to the very hot days they are having in Japan (still above 30C).
今日の夕食は、チリ・コンカーニとサラダ。ちょっと久しぶりです。いつもはガーリックブレッドも作りますが、今日はご飯だけ。ついついパンを食べすぎるので、このところ少し減らすように気をつけ中。
Today's dinner was Chilli Con Carni, it's been a little while since we had it last. We often have garlic bread as well but not today, just rice. We are trying to reduce the amount of bread to eat.
