Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional, for flavor)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter or ghee (for cooking)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Melt the Cheeses:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese and cream cheese. Microwave for about 1 minute, then stir until the mixture is smooth and melted. You may need to microwave for another 15-30 seconds if it's not fully melted.
  2. Mix the Dough:
    • In a separate bowl, combine the almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder (if using), and salt.
    • Add the melted cheese mixture and the egg to the dry ingredients. Stir everything together until a dough forms. You can use your hands to knead the dough and make sure everything is well combined.
  3. Shape the Naan:
    • Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten it into a naan shape (oval or round, about 1/4 inch thick) using your hands or a rolling pin.
  4. Cook the Naan:
    • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt a little butter or ghee.
    • Place one or two pieces of naan in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and firm to the touch. Repeat with the remaining naan.
  5. Serve:
    • Once cooked, brush the naan with melted butter or ghee and sprinkle with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired. Serve warm.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cumin or coriander powder to the dough for an Indian-inspired taste.
  • If the dough is sticky when shaping the naan, you can lightly oil your hands or sprinkle a little more almond flour on the surface.

Storage:

Store leftover naan in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm in a skillet or microwave.
