Creamy Garlic Butter Tuscan Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) mushrooms (such as cremini or button mushrooms), cleaned and sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Creamy Garlic Butter Tuscan Mushrooms

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms:
    • Clean the mushrooms thoroughly and slice them to your desired thickness.
  2. Cook the Mushrooms:
    • In a large skillet or frying pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
    • Add the mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until they are tender and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once done, remove the mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Creamy Garlic Butter Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
    • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  4. Combine Ingredients:
    • Pour in the heavy cream and stir well, allowing the mixture to simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until it starts to thicken slightly.
  5. Add Seasonings:
    • Stir in the dried thyme (or fresh thyme leaves) and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Simmer and Finish:
    • Continue to cook the sauce for another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
  7. Combine with Mushrooms:
    • Add the sautéed mushrooms back into the skillet with the creamy sauce. Stir gently to coat the mushrooms evenly with the sauce.
  8. Serve:
    • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your Creamy Garlic Butter Tuscan Mushrooms as a side dish or over pasta or rice.
